Yoko Ono Reconsidered: Lisa Carver Interview

Posted by on Dec.03, 2012, under Current Shows No Comments

Lisa Carver aka Lisa Suckdog has written a thought provoking book called Reaching Out With No Hands: Reconsidering Yoko Ono, that allows Carver to channel Ono while pondering life. While looking at life through the lens of Ono can turn a world upside down, it’s also freeing. Carver hopes that people will put down the book and “go live” and there’s much to be inspired by in Carver’s writing.

Carver previously wrote the popular fanzine Roller Derby  and authored the books Dancing Queen: The Lusty Adventures of Lisa Crystal Carver, Drugs Are Nice: A Post-Punk Memoir and The Lisa Diaries.

In this interview we talk about putting the book together, Ono as a feminist and what art piece by Ono Carver hopes people will emulate with her book.

The book is officially out November 6th.

Whether they’re your guilty pleasure or you’re a true “Blockhead”, the new authorized biography New Kids on the Block: Five Brothers and a Million Sisters by Nikki Van Noy is well done and out now.
