Best Of Punk Magazine, Ric Ocasek and Tony Iommi’s Iron Man Book Top The News

-The best of Punk magazine has been put together in the soon to be released (and appropriately titled) The Best Of Punk Magazine out on December 18th.

-Tony Iommi’s memoir Iron Man: My Journey Through Heaven and Hell With Black Sabbath is now out in paperback.

-Ric Ocasek will be doing an in-store for his book Lyrics and Prose at Barnes and Noble in Union Square Thursday December 13th.


Rock Book News and New Releases With Willie Nelson, John Fogerty and more

-The new Willie Nelson and Kinky Friedman collaboration Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die: Musings from the Road is now available.  Sadly, Willie hasn’t caught up with Snoop Lion’s smokable book technology and the book is only available in regular or e-book form.

-We’re looking forward to reading about one of our old NYC haunts, The Peppermint Lounge, in Peppermint Twist: The Mob, the Music, and the Most Famous Dance Club of the ’60s, which takes a look at the club when it was a gangster hang.

– Miles Davis is the subject of another great coffee table book from Voyaguer Press. Take a look at Miles Davis: The Complete Illustrated History.

-There’s a new Kraftwerk book called Kraftwerk Publikation by David Buckley. It’s only available on Amazon UK and here’s a brief interview with Buckley and more information on the book.

-Earlier this week, John Forgerty announced his plans to put pen to paper and write his memoir.  It’s set for release in 2014.

-Today is the official release day for Pete Townshend’s book Who I Am. Pete will be signing his book over the next few weeks at various locations. Here’s a list.

-Just out in paperback is Susan Masino’s fun and fascinating look at the three generations of Hank Williams’s. Check out our interview with Susan.

-Butch Walker, singer/songwriter/producer/artist/author/bon vivant has a new documentary out, kind of. It’s making the rounds of the festival circuit right now and will be available to everyone soon.  Here’s a look at the trailer.
